District 3 seeking community review panelists for 2023 D3 URJGENT Grants Program
Supervisor Otto Lee and the District 3 Team are seeking applicants for the Community Review Panel (CRP) for the 2023 D3 URJGENT Grant Program. We're excited to bring back our third year of the URJGENT Grants.
Information about the 2022 Program
The D3 URJGENT Grant Program is a community centered funding opportunity, with the review and selection process also community centered. The Community Review Panel is comprised of County of Santa Clara Residents chosen after submitting their own applications to join the panel. Each panelist will score the grant applications received based on specific criteria. We were fortunate to have outstanding panels for our 2021 and 2022 programs. Community volunteers serve on our Community Review Panel for 2023!
CRP members are asked to commit approximately twenty hours over the course of four weeks to help us evaluate and score grant applications - the grant program application period will end in late April. Those who join the Community Review Panel will be scheduled for an orientation meeting and a training meeting where they will be trained on the goals of the URJGENT Grant Program, evaluation rubric, and review process. There are no meeting commitments beyond that unless requested by the CRP. Staff will be provided to support the work of the CRP. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of County of Santa Clara.
Selection of panelists will take into account the following three factors:
- Geographical Representation
- Knowledge and appreciation of the experiences of traditionally disadvantaged communities and/or geographical needs of County of Santa Clara residents; and
- Diversity of lived experiences
